Cats are always welcome, as are small dogs.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to accommodate large dogs due to claw marks on the antique hardwood floors.
Please bring all necessary supplies for their upkeep.

Is the neighborhood safe?

Absolutely. The lower garden district is one the most safest areas in New Orleans
due to the active neighborhood crime watch as well as high police visibility.
One can walk around here safely even after dark.
However, if you visit the French quarter or use public transportation
use the same good judgment you would in any other large city

How do I get to the French Quarter?

There are many options available to reach the French quarter easily.
We are just 14 blocks away from the Quarter by foot.
We are also on the Magazine Street Bus Line, and 4 Blocks from the St. Charles Streetcar.
If you wish to go by taxi, it is about a seven or eight dollar cab ride.
Our recommended cab company is United cab company at 522-9771

How Do I get to The Muses from the Airport ?

Airport taxis are flat rated at $29.00 plus tip for one or two persons. For three or more it is $12 per person.
It is about 30 minutes by cab to The Muses, traffic permitting.
We recommend that you call a United Cab from the pay phone or your cell phone in the baggage claim (504-522-9771).
United will dispatch a taxi from the airport and collect you in front of the baggage claim.

The airport shuttle is $16 per person, with an approximate arrival time to The Muses
at about an hour to and hour and a half as it will make several stops..

What local area attractions are in walking distance?

The French Quarter, The aquarium of the Americas, Ernest J. Morial Convention center, are all short distances from The Muses!
And since The Muses is on Magazine Street itself, you can start your shopping adventure with reckless abandon!

How far is the convention center?

We are just 5 blocks from the closest part of the convention center.
However, the convention center is over a mile and a half long,
so check with the convention center for details of where your meeting is scheduled to take place.

Is there a place where I can launder my clothes?

We  have a laundry area on premises the guests are welcome to use.
We ask that guests refrain from using the facilities until after housekeeping is finished with the daily laundry.

Are Overnight Visitors Permitted?

Ms. Georgia is aware that the possibility exists that guests may bring home a visitor.
If this event does occur please be responsible of the behavior of your unregistered guest.

Can I use my computer at The Muses?

Feel free to bring your laptop computer along with you.
We have wireless internet access and in addition all rooms have an ethernet jack so you may hook up your  computer if you prefer.

What kind of parking is available?

No meter on street parking is available. There is also a lot the the end of the block across the street that the neighborhood shares.

Is there a house curfew?

No. Each guest will be given a key to the exterior door.
The house is well insulated for sound so no one will be disturbed if you come in late

What are the House rules?

Ms. Georgia has only two house rules that must never be broken:

1. Don't annoy the other guests
2. As we say in New Orleans "Laissez les bontemps rouler!" (Let the good times roll!)

Is the consumption of alcohol permitted?

Yes provided you bring your own and don't throw up in the house!!

Is smoking permitted at The Muses?

Ms. Georgia, although personally indifferent to smoking has found that more and more of her guests are non smokers.
Therefore we ask for you not to smoke in your room but on the balcony, front porch or patio.
If you are a smoker, you might want to consider a room with a balcony as they are outfitted with ashtrays so that you are able to smoke freely.
